We are very excited to announce that our documentary film The Green Divide has been selected by the Suncine Environmental Film Festival in Barcelona, which will take place from Nov 1st-23rd.
The Suncine “Festival Internacional de Cinema del Medi Ambient” is considered to be the first-ever film festival focused on environmental issues. Now in its 26th edition, it is devoted to promoting education and environmental awareness through cinema, inviting all audiences to reflect on the state of our planet and the necessary actions for its preservation.
Our film will show in the MIRADAS section, made exclusively available to Spanish audiences for free on the festival’s online platform. Dedicated to new perspectives and narratives, the MIRADAS section presents films up to an hour-long that explore the relationship between humans and the environment through creative and disruptive approaches. The films presented in this section will be elegible for a WWF prize.
The Green Divide exposes the ignored injustices suffered by minority and working class communities in the race for cities to go green. Featuring interviews with urban researchers, activists and residents, the film delves into six stories from neighborhoods in Europe and North America, where the tensions between municipal greening and local community struggles results in new forms of activism and participation for improving the rights of all residents to the green and healthy city.
